The Pat McGrath x Supreme lipstick will launch in the beauty brand’s cult-favourite MatteTrance formula in a cool blue-red shade with the name, “Supreme”.
Streetwear giant Supreme is no stranger to collaborations, from its highly raved about partnership with Louis Vuitton to sneaker collabs with Nike to a powerbank drop with Mophie. Now the American skateboarding and clothing label is dabbling into a whole new, lucrative arena: cosmetics.
For the first time ever, Supreme is partnering with black-owned beauty label Pat McGrath to launch its first beauty product: a single red lipstick. The partnership was announced in a series of Instagram posts by the beauty brand, each featuring quotes that relate to New York City – hinting at Supreme’s birth home.
The Pat McGrath x Supreme lipstick will launch in the beauty brand’s cult-favourite MatteTrance formula in a cool blue-red shade with the name, “Supreme” (we wouldn’t expect anything else).
While this highly-pigmented formula has been widely acclaimed by many a lipstick addict, the spotlight falls on the packaging with this latest launch. Speaking of, it’s characterised by a red bullet capped with Pat McGrath’s iconic gold lips and Supreme’s red and white lettering logo emblazoned on the front.
No official launch date has been set yet, but Supreme aims to sell this lipstick exclusively on its own website. That means we won’t be able to get our hands on it from Pat McGrath Labs nor its retail partner, Sephora. If anything, this will make the lipstick a lot harder to purchase, effectively increasing its desirability (smart move, albeit crafty).
Prices are to be announced, but judging by past Supreme launches (remember that infamous mundane brick?), it’ll be sold out in no time.
