Having celebrated exceptional films from all over the globe in the 2nd Malaysian International Film Festival, the winners of respective categories went on to receive their accolades at the subsequent Malaysia Golden Global Awards.
The awards gala was graced with the presence of Australian-Hong Kong cinematographer Christopher Doyle, Hong Kong actors Simon Yam and Teresa Mo, Malaysian actresses Vanida Imran, Lee Sinje, and Fish Liew, Malaysian directors Dain Said and Namron, South Korean director Kim Dong-ho, Japanese director Naomi Kawase, Taiwanese director Lee Lieh, and Vietnamese-French director Tranh Anh Hung.
Guests were entertained with performances by Malaysian artists Gin Lee, Nicole Lai and Adibah Noor; while local hosts Owen Yap and Daphne Iking served as emcees for the night.
Jaeger-LeCoultre, which returned as the official timepiece sponsor of the Malaysia International Film Festival for the second time, presented its iconic watches with commemorative engravings to the winners selected by the Jury of the Festival.
Reena Tan, Country Manager of Jaeger-LeCoultre Malaysia, awarded the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic to Hamed Behdad, who won Best Actor for his role in Blockage. Meanwhile, critically-acclaimed Hong Kong film director Ann Hui received the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic to commemorate her Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to the film industry, including works such as The Way We Are and A Simple Life.
