Here’s a brief round-up of some of the standout looks from several local designers that took to the KLFW 2024 runway.
Akudesign
Making its debut on the KLFW 2024 stage is Akudesign, a Melaka-based streetwear brand helmed by brothers Amirel Kasu and Afiq Afify, with a collection full of fun and sporty looks, complete with spray paint cans and bike tyres.
The Melium Group
The Melium Group ended the first day with a multi-brand showcase, starting with intricate pieces from Farah Khan Couture, before moving on to collections from labels including Alo, Alice + Olivia, Aigner, Boggi Milano, Elisabetta Franchi, MCM, and Piquadro.
KN by Key Ng
KN showcased its Spring-Summer 2025 collection, The Power of Nature during the MODA x KLFW runway on day two. The nature-inspired pieces, which flowed and transformed on the catwalk, were a sight to behold.
Syomirizwa Gupta x Shikha Grover
The nature theme continued to the final show of the second day with Syomirizwa Gupta’s Spring-Summer 2025/2026 collection, themed The Secret Garden. The bright and vibrant colours definitely piqued our attention.
Kit Woo
On the other hand, Kit Woo’s showcase was focused on darker, macabre themes for his Torn RTW 2024 collection, which took inspiration from horror films and monsters, and was described as “where haute couture meets horror.”
Alia Bastamam
Guests got a peek at the third act in Alia Bastamam’s Odyssey narrative with looks from the Act III: Future Spring-Summer 2025 collection walking the runway. Flowy yet structural, and statement-making too, these pieces definitely deserved to be the closing show for day four.
Shals
Although it’s been 13 years since its inception, SHALS finally made its KLFW debut this year. Showcasing the brand’s RTW 2024 collection, named Coming of Age, on the catwalk, the collection takes ‘corporate core’ to transformative levels, using structured outerwear silhouettes like those of blazers and vests, and combines them with sheer tops and unconventional double belts.
Tact
Another anticipated KLFW debut seen on the runway was that of Tact by founders Hadri Hashim and TTFGA. The loungewear fashion house aims to bring loungewear out of the bedroom and into daily, daytime rotation. Shiny satin tops, shorts, and robes meet oversized sweats, all styled up to create fashionable, elegant looks.
Fiziwoo
Fiziwoo brought out the big guns to the KLFW 2024 runway this year with their biggest collection in 14 years. Their Spring-Summer 2025 collection consists of 56 looks in total, spanning highly detailed couture, reimagined denim wear, and even everyday menswear pieces.
Behati
Another anticipated collection in the KLFW 2024 lineup this year came from none other than Behati. The iconic local fashion brand put on a truly fun show, and took the concept of ‘oversized’ to new heights. Presenting their Behati Merdeka collection, the pieces on the runway fronted local elements like batik and the colours of the flag.
Rizman Ruzaini
Last, but definitely not least, Rizman Ruzaini closed off KLFW 2024 with a presentation of their Cruise 24/25 collection, titled The Mystery of Sophia. In true RR fashion, the glitter and glam were present throughout the collection as well as their take on the classic houndstooth remade with diamante detailing. Pastel yellow, pink, and beige looks walked down the runway, befitting the daytime cruise feel.
