The Spring-Summer 2021 season brings us a host of new footwear launches, and this time, it’s fair play across categories. Though sneakers continue to lead the game (as seen at Versace and Dior), there’s also sculptural heels from Bottega Veneta and Ferragamo, as well as flat sandals from Longchamp. Take a look at the latest shoes to update your footwear cabinet below.
Versace Greca sneakers
First debuted at the brand’s Spring-Summer 2021 runway, Versace’s latest Greca sneakers comes in two styles: a high top and low top version. Its clean, understated silhouette is accentuated by the brand’s iconic Greca motif embossed all around the sole, concealing a Medusa emblem and tonal logo underneath. The high-tops also feature an appliqued Medusa badge at the ankle, whereas the low-tops have small logo accents at the heel counter and tongue. For both models, the upper is crafted from smooth leather or canvas that comes in a variety of shades including the classic black and white, as well as vivid blue, red, purple and pink. They are also arrive in the iconic Barocco print or the season’s sea-themed Trésor de la Mer print. W versace.com
Ferragamo F Heels
Salvatore Ferragamo is bringing back its iconic F heels this season, inspired by the original curved heel that won the founder of the house a Neiman Marcus award in 1947. Debuting as a sandal or slingback, the sculptural heel is made from a single piece of nappa leather, crafted with a meticulous crimping process that’s repeated up to 12 times to ensure the perfect fit. It comes in an array of pastels, including Hedren Green, Technicolour Yellow and a pearlescent bead embellished version in black for the sandals; as well as neutrals such as black, white, and burgundy for the slingback. Longchamp Roseau flat sandals
For SS21, Longchamp has launched a new collection of flat sandals made for those comfy-casual days. Our favourite pick is the Roseau sandal, characterised by the signature bamboo toggle inspired by the brand’s eponymous bag. The toe-post style sandals feature a triangular-cut upper that’s crafted from crocodile-embossed calfskin leather, and comes in four shades: burgundy, blue, jade and black. W longchamp.com
Bottega Veneta Sandal Wedge
After the strappy heels and intrecciato styles of past seasons, Bottega Veneta is focusing on chunky wedges for spring. Introducing the Sandal Wedge, a reinterpretation of the iconic silhouettes of The Bloc and The Bold shoes. As its name suggests, the cross between a sandal and a wedge-shaped heel is defined by exaggerated proportions and volumes with a lightweight, relaxed sense of modernity. It is available in a selection of textures and colours, such as Lagoon Nappa leather and Compact Bubble knit. W bottegaveneta.com
