This year, Disneyland Paris will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a whole host of new programmes, including a high tech light show involving 200 drones, 10 theme-based art installation gardens, 60 new food dishes, and the opening of an Avengers Campus section in the park.
However, it was one particular part of the announcement that got the internet up in arms – Minnie Mouse’s new outfit.
In the sneak peak of Minnie’s modern makeover, the 93-year-old cartoon icon trades in her classic red dress with white polka dots for a dark blue tailored pantsuit designed by Stella McCartney, complete with black polka dots and bow details.

The British fashion designer said of the project, “I wanted Minnie to wear her very first pantsuit at Disneyland Paris, so I have designed one of my iconic costumes—a blue tuxedo—using responsibly sourced fabrics. This new take on her signature polka dots makes Minnie Mouse a symbol of progress for a new generation.”
The new threads will only appear on the Minnie Mouse character at Walt Disney Studios Park, Disneyland Paris, for a limited time starting March 6.
The debut of the updated ensemble will coincide with Women’s History Month, while the collaboration with Disney will also see Stella McCartney market a special Minnie Mouse T-shirt in honour of International Women’s Rights Day. The T-shirt will be available online and in Stella stores from March 8.

“What I love about Minnie is the fact that she embodies happiness, self-expression, authenticity, and that she inspires people of all ages around the world. Plus, she has such great style!” adds McCartney.
In Spring 2022, the fashion brand will also release a limited-edition product line inspired by Disney’s Fantasia.
