For the times you accidentally left your phone at home and desperately need to stay connected, this handbag cum tablet has got you covered.
Louis Vuitton landed its Cruise 2020 show at the historic TWA Flight Center last week, showcasing a collection evoking time travel with a melange of leather jackets and skirts, geometric prints and crystal-embroidered bustiers.
But what actually (possibly) gave us glimpses of the future were the cutting-edge bags with flexible AMOLED screens set into the leather. You know, for the times you accidentally left your phone at home and desperately need to stay connected, this handbag cum tablet has got you covered.
In fact, the handbag-gadget crossover will be named “Connected” when launched as it will come with in-built WiFi to display content from a dedicated LV platform. During the show, the touch-screen displays had shown moving, futuristic graphics of cityscapes for an idea of how this might work.
What guests saw at the show were the prototypes, including a duffle bag made with the brand’s signature LV monogram canvas (herewith dubbed the Canvas of the Future) and a bucket bag made with black patent leather.
No word yet as to when the actual product will be launched, but we’d like to see if it will actually take off. Come to think of it, travelling would be easier if we could just flash our boarding passes on those screens…
