Themed “Les Copains”, meaning “friends” in French, the collaboration will see the award-winning duo play host to a culinary tour de force complete with wine pairing.
Chef Darren Chin and Chef Evert Onderbeke are no strangers to the fine dining scene in KL. While some chefs remain buried behind the kitchen, these are two names that have become synonymous with the restaurants they proudly own, as evidenced in our inaugural Chef on Chef series.
After over five years at the helm of their respective restaurants, the two chefs will celebrate their culinary bond and fine dining roots through an exclusive 4-Hands dinner. Themed “Les Copains”, meaning “friends” in French, the collaboration will see the award-winning duo play host to a culinary tour de force, complete with wine pairing from the cellar of Soleil’s sister wine company, SW Wine Depot.
Expect a meal highlighting Chef Evert’s specialty in seafood with courses such as Smoked Eel Sorbet and Langoustine, as well as Chef Darren’s knack for sourcing premium ingredients with dishes like Tanjung Malim Sturgeon Fillet and Pyrénéés Milk Fed Lamb.
There are also two options for those keen to pair their degustation meal with the finest wines from SW Wine Depot’s special cellar. The selected pairing will include a Nicholas Fieulatte Brut and a 2011 Chateau Prieure Lichine, Margaux; whereas the premium pairing will include a glass of Dom Perignon and Château Angelus of Saint-Émilion (which was promoted to Grand Cru Class A status in 2012), to name a few.
The 4-Hands degustation dinner menu will be available for two nights only, starting 26th September at Soleil and ending the following day at DC Restaurant. The dinner is priced at RM650++ per person, with an additional RM260++ for selected wine pairing and RM888++ for premium wine pairing.
