The dining scene in Malaysia is a robust feast that leaves none wanting with delicacies ranging from street to fine. This season, we take a look at the restaurants putting Malaysian ingredients front and centre, as we comb the best of North to South of the Peninsular for a true and local exploration of Malaysian flavours.
Down South of the Peninsular lies the third biggest city in Malaysia, the bustling Johor Bahru, home of the Southern Tigers and a growing following of fine food.
Fueling that appetite is Initial JB, helmed by chef owner Koh Chin Hong who brings to the table his love for whole ingredients perfected by a real farm-to-table culinary prowess.
First impression of Initial is its heavy influence from world-renowned new Nordic restaurant Noma, where Chef Koh spent some of his most formative culinary years training under the famed Chef René Redzepi.
Will all this training live up to the expectations of his three guests tonight, Chef Lroy Lim from Willow KL as well as Nicholas Ng food critique and consultant, and Jean-Baptiste Gourvil, brand ambassador for Martell?
We are giving one (1) couple a chance to dine at Willow KL and sample this season’s menu, paired with Martell cognac. To be in the running to win, just follow these simple steps:
