In 2020, 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer, and 685,000 breast cancer-related deaths occurred globally, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
With each year comes a variety of ways to bring more awareness to what is considered one of the most prevalent cancers in the world. You might see pink ribbons and shirts begin popping up around you, while brands and campaigns play their part to educate and raise funds, all as part of the Pink October initiative.

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur
Crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Gael Moutet, the Drawing Room’s Classic Afternoon Tea at the St Regis Kuala Lumpur comes with a limited-edition pink ribbon pin and a curated pink beauty kit worth RM185, in partnership with The Estée Lauder Companies Malaysia. The menu is inspired by the St Regis scent, Caroline’s Four Hundred, tying back to the hotel’s founding matriarch Mrs Astor, and will include a pink mocktail and an individual-sized Pink Hazelnut Praline Cake. Head to Latitude 03 at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur for the Blushing Pink Afternoon Tea, a stylish array of delicacies such as a red dragon fruit gazpacho with aloe vera and pearl sago, flamingo crust seabass, pink scones with chantilly and strawberry cream, and the hotel’s signature Pink Macarons. Raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month together with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA), Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur invites guests this month to partake in its Pink Afternoon Tea set. For each set purchased, diners will receive a Bowerhaus limited edition Pink Courage Pin, while additional pins can be bought at RM20 nett.
