KENZO’s artistic director, Nigo, made a powerful move to attract the masses when he named Vernon, one of the 13 members of South Korean boy band Seventeen, as the fashion house’ first global ambassador.
The 25-year-old K-pop sensation will head multiple KENZO commercial campaigns for apparel and sneakers, as well as marking his first official debut at KENZO’s coed fashion show, which will take place on 23rd June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.
Discussing the appointment, Artistic Director Nigo explains, “I am pleased and grateful to welcome Vernon into the KENZO family.” While Vernon acclaimed that he is excited to explore the synergy through this partnership, and look forward to showcasing a new side of him to fans around the world.
Vernon’s charisma drew the attention of Pledis, now his management company, due to his early history in television. The artist is acknowledged for writing approximately 70 songs and boasts 6 million Instagram followers.
