Inspired by the champion sprinter’s favourite models, the Big Bang Unico Sapphire/Yellow Gold Usain Bolt watch is a bold embodiment of hope and the desire to win.
The 2017 edition comes in transparent sapphire model, as well as an alternative yellow-gold calfskin strap with an outline of the Jamaican flag.
The use of sapphire is not purely aesthetic: as one of the most difficult materials to machine, it is a testament for pushing the limits until success is attained. On the second strap, Bolt’s trademark colours hold meaning, too: gold symbolises victory, while green tells of hope.
This sporty piece is influenced by Bolt down to admirable detail. For example, at 9 o’clock we see a silhouette of the sprinter his iconic victory symbol – the Lightning Bolt pose. Additionally, the intricate skeleton dial is carved from 18K yellow gold, and every purchase comes with a Puma t-shirt designed by the acclaimed athlete himself.

As a three-time Olympic triple gold medalist, Bolt’s support of Only Watch will help forward the mission of the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy. Hublot has been working with Only Watch to support children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy since 2005; and the values of determination and courage Bolt personified meld perfectly with this cause.
