The annual Metropolitan Museum of Art fundraising gala returns, bringing with it the usual buzz and hype for the looks that are unveiled. This year, with a theme so linked to the concept of adornment as statement, it’s only right to expect the stars that graced the Met Gala 2025 carpet to be accessorised in kind. And turn up they did, honouring the history and impact of Black dandyism and Black tailored style through pieces that match the gala’s Superfine: Tailoring Black Style theme.
Brooches in particular made its appearance in many more ways than in previous years, with many celebrities – men and women – choosing to jewel up with the iconic menswear choice. Of course, necklaces, earrings, and rings showed up too, all large and statement-making too.
Here are some of our favourite looks from the Met Gala 2025 carpet.
Anna Wintour
The Vogue editor and chair of the Met Gala chose a powder blue ensemble with an antique Briony Raymond diamond necklace and a piece de resistance of a massive aquamarine brooch.
Cardi B
Dressed up in Burberry, Cardi paired the velvet suit with a Messika pear-shaped diamond necklace from the Private Collection, along with rings and earrings from the D-Vibes collection.
Coco Jones
Showing up in one of our favourite looks from the night, Coco Jones’ statement making tanzanite necklace from Manish Malhotra Jewellery is every bit as stunning as the wearer.
Damson Idris
This young actor already stole the show with his outfit transformation from F1 racing suit to the stunning three-piece red Tommy Hilfiger, but the emerald-set chain brooch fixed to his lapel – from his own jewellery line Didris – was the cherry on top.
Dua Lipa
Dua took to the carpet with fiancé Callum Turner, wearing head to toe Chanel, including an 18-carat white gold and diamond necklace.
Ego Nwodim
The SNL-star went with a cascading Boucheron natural diamond necklace to complement the plunging neckline of her suit, with matching pieces adorning her ears and fingers.
Gabrielle Union
Opting for a natural diamonds and red spinel necklace from Tiffany & Co., Gabrielle added a pop of colour to her monochromatic dress.
Kendall Jenner
The youngest Kardashian complemented her grey outfit with pieces from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie collection, of which the necklace (and it’s 12.37-carat diamond centrepiece) stole the show.
Kim Kardashian
Not a stranger to wearing attention-grabbing jewels, Kim’s set of Moussaieff diamond high jewellery worth more than a million dollars was the right choice.
Lewis Hamilton
As a co-chair for this year’s ceremony, Lewis Hamilton stuck to the theme, and stuck it well, in a custom ensemble from Wales Bonner which includes the stunning brooch and ring, finished off with Briony Raymond diamond stud earrings.
Manish Malhotra
As the founder and creative director of his own label and jewellery house, Indian fashion icon Manish Malhotra was a sight to behold, showcasing a cluster of brooches and collar pins from the Majestic Regalia collection of his own atelier.
Priyanka Chopra
Serving Cruella De Vil realness in her polka dot white-and-black custom Balmain suit, the hulking 241-carat Magnus Emerald necklace from Bulgari was dandy adornment done right.
Rosé
Blackpink’s Rosé’s Tiffany & Co. necklace spoke for her, accentuating the black suit she wore.
Shah Rukh Khan
Bollywood’s forever leading man Shah Rukh Khan makes his debut at the Met Gala wearing Sabyasachi, pairing the understated outfit with an impressive custom stack of chains and a stunning Bengal Tiger Head cane from the brand that combines elements of both Black and Indian dandyism.
Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs is known as one of the NFL’s more fashionable men, and this fur coat, turtleneck sweater, red leather shoes, and bespoke diamond necklace from Eliantte & Co proves it once again.
Teyana Taylor
An early arrival on the Met Gala carpet, Teyana’s symbolism-filled outfit (which she helped design with costumer Ruth E. Carter) was made better with the multitude of David Yurman pieces she wore, including the central bib necklace.
Zendaya
The queen of the Met Gala returns and serves once again! We love this jewellery choice of a Bulgari diamond-set snake brooch on her back that gives her otherwise classic (and perfectly tailored) zoot suit a fun, yet on theme twist.
