The hotel has also urged followers (and the general public) via their social media platforms to join in their initiatives. Here’s how you can help.
Just as local brands and organisations like MODA and FashionValet continue to support frontliners in curbing the spread of COVID-19, Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur is doing its part by offering donations in kind to several groups of unsung heroes.
The prestigious hotel took the first initiative to contribute packed lunches prepared by its culinary team to the Dang Wangi Police Station. Mr. Gonzalo Duarte Silva, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur presented the hot meals to representative ASP Riduan at noon on April 7, 2020. This was to show support for the role of the police force in keeping the country safe and orderly during this pandemic.
That same day, the hotel offered toiletries to the frontliners at Hospital Serdang, where Resident Manager Sachin Tyagi welcomed and passed the donated goods to representatives Dr. Norimie Binti Nafi and Ms. Nurul.
Separately, the hotel will be providing 100 hot meals to the team at Lembah Pantai Clinic from April 9 to April 28, 2020. As of time of writing, the clinic is one of Malaysia’s identified red zones with the highest cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases recorded. As such, the hotel hopes to express their gratitude and moral support for the clinic’s contribution to the community and national healthcare system through this initiative.
The hotel has also urged followers (and the general public) via their social media platforms to join in their initiatives to contribute meals to Dang Wangi Police Station and Lembah Pantai Health Clinic. Those keen to help need only log onto www.shangri-la-specials.com to place their orders, leaving a note that it will be a sponsored meal.
Alternatively, the public can also help by donating medical supplies to Hospital Serdang by emailing the hotel’s communications team at slkl-pr@shangri-la.com.
