If you’ve been anywhere near a POP MART store, scrolled through social media, or spotted those adorable figurines on someone’s bag, you’ve probably noticed that these collectibles have been trending for a while now – and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.
POP MART, founded in 2010 by Wang Ning in Beijing, initially sold a variety of products but gained massive popularity in 2016 with its first blind box toy series, Molly. These collectibles quickly became a global trend due to the thrill of surprise that comes with their blind box format.
These pocket-sized collectibles have taken the world by storm, turning blind boxes into an art form and fuelling an ever-growing global fanbase. Haven’t gotten your hands on anything from POP MART? Here are five of POP MART’s most famous and highly coveted series to see which one you should get first.
The Monsters

No, not all the characters in this series are called Labubu – The Monsters series actually features a variety of unique characters, each with its own charm. However, if there’s one that has truly taken the spotlight, it’s definitely Labubu. Designed by artist Kasing Lung, Labubu is a mischievous, elf-like creature with wide, toothy grins and expressive eyes.
Alongside Labubu, The Monsters series includes other characters like Zimomo, the leader of the Labubu elves, with a spiked tail, and Mokoko, Labubu’s companion, with pastel pink fur and a white belly.
While Zimomo, Labubu, and Mokoko look somewhat similar, the other The Monsters characters look quite different. Labubu, however, remains the undeniable fan favourite, with some rare editions fetching sky-high resale prices in the collector’s market.
Molly

Before POP MART became a global sensation, there was Molly – the brand’s first true breakout star. Designed by renowned Hong Kong artist Kenny Wong, Molly is instantly recognisable with her round face, big eyes, and signature pout.
What makes Molly so iconic is her versatility. Over the years, she’s been reimagined in countless forms, from classic art-inspired series (think Van Gogh and Monet) to quirky collaborations with brands like Coca-Cola.
Molly’s ability to transform across different styles while maintaining her distinct charm has made her one of the most enduring characters in the POP MART universe.
Skullpanda

For those who prefer something a little darker and more fashion-forward, Skullpanda is the ultimate collectible. Created by the mysterious artist Skullpanda, this series stands out from the traditionally cute and whimsical POP MART aesthetic, embracing a moody, high-fashion look instead.
Each Skullpanda figure features striking outfits, intricate details, and an effortlessly cool vibe. With series like City of Night, Action! Cut!, and Hypepanda, Skullpanda has developed an identity that merges goth, streetwear, and art.
It’s this bold, avant-garde appeal that makes it a favourite among collectors who want something edgier than your typical kawaii designs.
Crybaby

In stark contrast to the confident and stylish Skullpanda, Crybaby is all about expressing your emotions, specifically sadness.
Created by artist Ayan Deng, this series features figurines with oversized eyes, delicate tears, and soft colour palettes that evoke a sense of vulnerability, resonating with collectors who see their own emotions reflected in these tiny figurines.
In a world where everyone is constantly putting on a brave face, Crybaby offers a refreshing take on the beauty of embracing one’s feelings.
Hirono

Hirono symbolises growth and serves as a personification of deep, multifaceted human emotions. A favourite for collectors, Hirono’s journey resonates with those who connect with the emotional depth and personal growth represented in this figure.
