Though sleek and sophisticated on the outside, the Vara Rainbow offers a youthful and vibrant surprise under its flap.
When it was first conceived in 1978, the Vara bow quickly became a signature style for Italian shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo. Forty years later, the brand combines the iconic features of its legacy with crisp and contemporary geometric designs – introducing the new Pre-Spring 2018 Vara Rainbow collection.
Highlighted by the Vara bow clasp ornament, the bag collection features five mini-sized slingbags in an ultra-feminine palette – BonBon, Opal, Begonia and Black for calfskin models, and Red for the patent leather design.
Though sleek and sophisticated on the outside, the Vara Rainbow offers a youthful and vibrant surprise under its flap. The inner back pocket opens to a gusset, revealing a series of multicolour compartments that pay tribute to another iconic motif of the Ferragamo DNA: Rainbow, a colourful wedge with golden kidskin straps, which the founder created in 1938 for Judy Garland.
Dubbed as “a treasure in your hands”, the Vara Rainbow actualises the founder’s dream to dress women from “toe to head”, extrapolating the brand’s most distinctive ornaments and motifs from its shoes to its ready-to-wear and accessories.
