Premium Italian sports watchmaker Panerai, along with its partners at Swiss Watch Gallery, recently celebrated the opening of its first standalone boutique in Malaysia, located at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
Gracing the event with their esteemed presence were Managing Director of Panerai Southeast Asia and Oceania, Giacomo Cinelli; Executive Director of Valiram Group, Sharan Valiram; Italian Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires, Mrs. Silvia Marrara; and Pavilion Retail and Leasing Senior Director, Lovell Ho.
Also spotted among more than 80 VIP guests, media and friends of Panerai were Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 Sweta Shekon, singer/rapper Altimet and social media influencer couple Dennis Yin and Jazel Lim.
Spanning 81 square metres, the new boutique is designed to emulate the underwater Panerai universe through multi-sensorial installations. Guests were invited to explore the aquatic imagery of venomous octopuses and ravenous sharks decorating the store entrance, even as they were served fresh seafood and canapes as well as Italian liqueurs and cocktails from a bar built into a rocky crevice. Meanwhile, DJ Blink keep guests entertained with electronic beats.
Inside the store, guests were given an exclusive look at the brand’s Submersible collection, including the latest Panerai Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech™ – 47mm (PAM00979), a professional underwater timepiece dedicated to its historic partnership with the Italian Navy.
Alongside the navy-approved collection were four new Radiomir watches featuring a military green dial that reinforces their historical identity. Executed by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, the watches will be available exclusively at Panerai boutiques only.
