When there is a flash mob to Prince’s Kiss accompanying a proposal, you know it is going to be a fun wedding!
The swinging bachelors of Manhattan are bachelors no more! The wedding of the year turned out to be more of a fashion event as celebrities made their way to The Grill and The Pool in midtown Manhattan to celebrate Marc Jacobs’ wedding to Char Defrancesco last week.
The guest list were names from their fashion family like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Amber Valletta, Helena Christensen, Anna Wintour, Lil’ Kim, Boy George, Debbie Harry, Rita Ora, Christina Ricci, Luka Sabbat, Chloë Sevigny, Rachel Zoe, Bette Midler, pretty much most of the big names in the fashion industry.
While we will be talking about this wedding for a long time, here are the highlights that we can’t get enough off!
Who did they wear?
Marc Jacobs is not one for moderate statements. Naturally, all eyes were on the grooms to see their choices for the big day. And boy, did they go big! They wore the best from Savile Row. Marc was in a suit by Huntsman, and his other half was in a green velvet smoking jacket by the same.
Shoes, shoes, shoes
No outfit is complete without a good pair of shoes. Marc chose custom Gucci high-heeled boots from the impressive line-up he posted on his Instagram, while Char wore custom Christian Louboutin sneakers.
The little details
As Marc puts it, “God is in the details.” Both the grooms wore onyx penguin pin symbolising fidelity, as penguins are known to have only one partner and mate for life. The set was a gift from the Prada and Miu Miu designer Fabio Zambernardi.
Cake and dance
No wedding is complete without a cake. An over-the-top, beautiful five-tiered cake was cut in a dramatic cake-cutting ceremony led by a dance troupe. After all, the proposal was done with a flash mob, how can the wedding go without another number!
The perfect door gift

Congrats @themarcjacobs and @chardefrancesco on a beautiful wedding!!! X #dontfloataway
Each guest took home a “lousy sweatshirt”, which was anything but lousy. It was fun and quirky, and we can’t get enough of the two cuddling otters.
At the end of the night, the couple drove off to start their newly wedded life, in nothing less than a 1962 Rolls Royce Phantom!
