America’s biggest sports event of the year took place last week, when the National Football League (NFL) crowned the Philadelphia Eagles the newest victor of the Super Bowl trophy. The 59th edition of the American Football sporting event didn’t only deliver excitement from the high-octane game, but it’s also a social event unlike any other, with A-list celebrities, legendary athletes, and anyone who’s anyone gathering to witness history. And with that comes ample opportunities to dress up and accessorise. For this edition of Watch Out, these are some of the timepieces that caught our eye at the 2025 Super Bowl LIX game.
Michael Strahan – Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow
We’re starting the list with one of haute horlogerie’s most coveted pieces – former NFL player turned TV host and journalist Michael Strahan rocked the iconic Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow both in the commentator’s booth and on the pitch. One of the earliest rainbow gem-set watches that started the trend when it debuted in 2012, this legendary watch is a fitting choice for a legendary athlete, balancing stylish and sporty in a gold accessory.
Jay Z – Richard Mille RM66 Flying Tourbillon “Rockstar”
If there’s anyone that could pull of a timepiece dubbed rockstar in a red and white colourway, it would be Jay Z. The rapper and highly decorated musician showed up to the Super Bowl with his two daughters in a casual monochromatic fit, allowing this super-rare, two-piece limited Richard Mille watch to get the attention it deserves.
Tom Brady – Jacob & Co. Caviar Tourbillon in Yellow Sapphires
American football GOAT and sporting legend Tom Brady accessorise with a watch that is as bold as his achievements. The Jacob & Co. Caviar tourbillon is inspired by the look of a freshly cracked caviar tin, with the tightly packed brilliant-cut yellow sapphires representing the pearls of caviar. Eye-catching is an understatement.
Serena Williams – Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Tourbillon Openworked
As Audemars Piguet ambassador, we always look forward to seeing which AP piece Serena Williams would rock to any event, and this time she aptly chose the blue-on-blue Code 11.59 Tourbillon Openworked to match her outfit and be on-theme for her cameo during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance.
Jalen Hurts – Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712-1R Moon Phase
Just hours before playing the game of his life and winning the 2025 Super Bowl trophy, the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback already made a style statement with his all-purple suit look when he entered the stadium. And peeking out from his cuff is the contrastingly classy rose gold Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712 Moon Phase, paired with the brown leather strap.
Saquon Barkley – Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar Zodiac Watch
Another Jacob & Co. masterpiece made its way to the stadium, this time on the wrist of the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley, who wore the stunning Astromia Solar Zodiac Watch. A tribute to celestial bodies, this complication depicts 12 planetary bodies, with the Sun in the centre of the dial and Earth taking pride of place as it rotates along its axis. And as part of Barkley’s look, the blue alligator leather strap certainly complements his denim-on-denim look.
Miles Teller – IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor (SFTI)
It wasn’t only the athletes that made sure to bring the ice to New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome for the game. Miles Teller reminisces on one of his iconic roles as Rooster in Top Gun: Maverick when he wore IWC’s Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor chronograph featuring the TOPGUN patch on the dial. This pilot’s watch is an exclusive timepiece available specially for graduates of the US Navy’s Fighter Weapons School programme, the real life school that inspired the Top Gun films.
Taylor Swift – Cartier Panthère de Cartier Yellow Gold with Diamonds
Style icon and pop sensation Taylor Swift was also at the game, supporting her beau Travis Kelce and his team the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2025 Super Bowl. Dressed in an appropriately casual tank top and sparkly jean shorts, the glint of gold from her wrist did not go amiss – her watch of choice is the timelessly classy square-cased Panthère de Cartier. And while her team may have lost, her accessory and style choices were definitely a win.
