Master Thai Chef Prasert Sussadeewong of the renowned Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok takes centre stage at Mosaic, offering authentic Thai flavours ranging from salads to main courses and broths.
Phad Thai, Thod Mun Pla, Tom Yam Goong, Tub Tim Krob – you won’t need English translations for these if you’re a true lover of Thai cuisine. And these are just a small fraction of the classic Thai dishes you’ll find at Mosaic, the all-day buffet dining restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, all this week.
From 16 to 22 July, Master Thai Chef Prasert Sussadeewong of the renowned Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok takes centre stage at Mosaic, offering authentic Thai flavours ranging from salads to main courses and broths.
Chef Prasert brings with him over 10 years of experience in luxury hotels around the world, with prior tenures including Head Thai Chef at the private Laucala Island Resort in Fiji and Executive Sous Chef at Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels in Doha, Qatar. Beginning his culinary journey at the early age of 14, his style is to interpret modern dishes through the use of versatile ingredients.
Among the highlights to try besides those mentioned above include the Som Tam Goong Pow – spicy shredded green papaya salad with grilled prawn; Puu Nim Thod Grob Phad Bai Horapa – stir-fried soft shell crab with chilli, garlic and sweet basil leaves; Khow Niew Mamuang – mango and sticky rice; and Gluay Thod Gub Sangkhaya – banana fritters and soft custard dipped with pandanus flavour.
Reflecting the warm hospitality and vibrant culture of the Land of Smiles, Mosaic has been decorated with bespoke Thai decorations, such as the boat display at Lounge on the Park’s outdoor terrace representing the country’s famous floating fruit market. During the meal, guests will also be entertained with a traditional Thai performance and a fruit carving demonstration.
To complete the immersive Thai experience, guests are invited to witness an umbrella-painting demonstration by artists from Chiang Mai from 16 to 18 July, and/or join the Thai Cooking Class at the hotel’s AQUA Restaurant on 21 July.
