4 things to catch at Star Wars: Experience the Force festival

See the Millenium Falcon and BB-8, undergo Padawan training, and get your hands on exclusive merchandise at Singapore’s upcoming Star Wars festival.

Hot on the heels of news about an upcoming Star Wars hotel, we’re in for a treat again – this time at a location closer to home than galaxies away. Star Wars: Experience the Force Singapore is coming to Orchard Road from September 1 to 10 for a ten-day extravaganza celebrating one of the greatest cinematic fandoms of our time.

Here are the events you won’t want to miss.

Star Wars Force Friday II

When: 12.01am on September 1 & 10am-10pm on September 10
Where: ION Station at Basement 4
What: Your chance to get your hands on collectibles, books, apparel and more from upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Meet BB-8 Virtual Reality

When: 10am-10pm, every day
Where: ION Station at Basement 4
What: Virtual meeting and interaction with BB-8 for the first time in the region. The ILMxLAB creation was first featured at Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017.

Padawan Training

When: 3pm-9pm every day, with 30-minute intervals
Where: ION Orchard’s outdoor event space at level 1
What: Discover the force within you and become the padawan you were always meant to be with a few simple lessons.

Millenium Falcon

When: 10am-10pm, every day
Where: ION Orchard’s outdoor event space at level 1
What: Enter and experience the ship that made the Kessel Run in under 12 par secs as it speeds through Southeast Asia for the first time.

This epic festival will culminate in an immersive experience at Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC), at Marina Bay Sands on September 9 & 10. There will be a dedicated Star Wars zone, where fans can get up close with fan-built vehicle replicas including a Millenium Falcon interior from the movie.
