This coming March, Jo Malone London wants to bring you on a journey through an enchanting world blooming with English lavender that form purple pathways across the countryside. Your three keys to enter come in the form of the brand’s new limited-edition cologne collection: Wisteria & Lavender, Silver Birch & Lavender and Lavender & Coriander.

“In perfumery, we mainly use French lavender. It is such a familiar, popular scent, so we wanted to explore it in ways that you might not be used to. We’ve taken natural English lavender and gone in three different directions with the other ingredients, to give it that Jo Malone London twist,” said Celine Roux, Global Head of Fragrance at Jo Malone London.
For those with a preference for musks, the Wisteria & Lavender cologne may be up your alley with a scent recalling a country house ornamented by cascading wisteria. Featuring soft floral notes of English Lavender intertwined with soft wisteria and powdery heliotrope, the floral trio produces a clean, white musk that feels nostalgic to the soul.
To enhance its floral character, Jo Malone recommends pairing this cologne with its Peony & Blush Suede scent. The fragrant bouquet of peonies will add depth to the dainty wisteria and lavender combination, while still leaving a delicate musk.
Alternatively, the Silver Birch & Lavender fragrance conjures a picture of morning light falling upon a garden dotted with silver birch trees. A spritz of grapefruit lends a cool freshness to the timeless notes of lavender, whilst a woody base of silver birch and roasted oak gently ground the refreshing scent.
Combine the cologne with Wild Bluebell for an added touch of florals and dewiness that springs after rain. The latter’s amberwood notes will also complement its earthy, woody base for a more rounded combination.
The final Lavender & Coriander cologne evokes an aromatic herb garden where English lavender thrives amongst the rest. A hint of sage deepens the lavender and complementing coriander, whereas the addition of tonka bean leaves a pleasantly surprising warmth and sensual balance.
For the perfect pairing, try layering it with the Lime Basil & Mandarin cologne that’s equally aromatic, but with zest. Its sparkling citrus notes and fragrant basil will spice up the herbaceous notes of coriander and calming notes of lavender.
Priced at RM295, the limited-edition colognes will be available in 30ml decorative bottles at all Jo Malone boutiques from March 2020, alongside a Lavender & Musk Pillow Mist 45ml (RM150) and Lavender & Musk Diffuser 165ml (RM420).
