This is no ordinary sugar rush.
When it comes to midday treats, we like ours with a spot of tea – and a sinful amount of sugar.
So imagine our delight upon discovering we could get High on Sugar with a view at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur‘s THIRTY8 restaurant. As the name suggests, THIRTY8 offers spectacular views of KL city skyline from the 38th floor, elevating that moment of mid-day indulgence both literally and figuratively.
This afternoon tea is a delicious medley of Asian and Western flavours. Modern takes on classic desserts await at THIRTY8, each worthy of both palate and Instagram feed. We were spoilt for choice with a magical display of macaroons, cakes, and treats, sure to satiate even the greatest sweet tooth.
Besides the colourful dessert buffet, sharing savoury plates are also refillable to your heart’s (and stomach’s) content. Choices include Black Angus beef meatballs, steamed sea bass, shepherd’s pie and assorted dim sum, each made to order so you enjoy it fresh.
On top of that, interactive live stations add an element of curiosity to the afternoon spread. Watch chefs put together Chinese noodles and ice cream, then indulge while taking in the sights and sounds with a bird’s eye view from Grand Hyatt.
THIRTY8’s High on Sugar is available from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. It is priced at RM 150 per person, inclusive of service charge and GST.
Following its recent renovation, THIRTY8 spans a chic restaurant, wine bar, and lounge on Grand Hyatt’s second highest floor. It’s a wonderful secret to let family, friends and guests in on, whether on a special occasion or impromptu outing – “Sure, you’ve had tea, but have you had it next to the Petronas Twin Towers?”
