That is now more achievable than you think with a new luxury ice maker from FirstBuild.
Dubbed the Forge Clear Ice System, the machine, as its name suggests, churns out beautiful, perfectly spherical balls of ice. What’s more fascinating is how it doesn’t need a freezer, as it is fully capable of freezing crystal clear ice balls in a matter of hours.
It works on two components – one freezes and creates “gem-shaped clear ice” while the other holds them at temperature after which a heated press shapes the gems into large spheres. The shaping takes approximately all of a minute, and voila, you have the perfect sphere of ice that promises no impurities or trapped air bubbles to swirl all fancy the next time you break out that whisky you’ve been saving for a special occasion.
