Moët Hennessy Diageo Malaysia and Malaysia Watch Group (MWG) recently joined hands to hold a an exclusive event aptly named “In Good Company” – celebrating fine spirits, good food, watches, music and camaraderie.
Taking place at Blue in EQ, the intimate evening saw an auction of two Panerai watches: the Panerai Luminor 8 Days Power Reserve 44mm (PAM 00795), valued at RM26,400 and the limited-edition Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono Flyback 44mm (PAM 01037) – one-of-a-kind in Malaysia – valued at RM67,900.
Unlike conventional auctions, participants made their bids using two products from MHD’s portfolio, namely the Glenmorangie Signet whisky and Hennessy Paradis cognac, in lieu of money. The former (which retails at RM840 per bottle) was used to bid for the Luminor 8 Days, whilst the latter (which retails at RM3,700 per bottle) was used for the Luminor Luna Rossa.
“For this session featuring Glenmorangie Signet and Hennessy Paradis, we are indeed grateful and joyful to be able to partner with Malaysia Watch Group to conduct the auction of the two Panerai watches,” said Thomas Bouleuc, managing director of MHD Malaysia. “They have been truly gracious and the auction was certainly well received and took the event to a whole new level. This is the first time we conducted an auction of this sort and we certainly are looking at forging more such partnerships for future events.”
Following the auction, guests were treated to a lucky draw offering prizes worth more than RM50,000 in total. Completing the by-invite-only experience were the sultry melodies of Z Yan, fondly known as Malaysia’s ‘Bossa Princess’.
