Dior is partnering with Paris Saint-Germain to create a range of pieces, to be worn by its players, in a collaboration that will run for the next two seasons.
Designed by Kim Jones, the artistic director of Dior’s men’s collections, the elegant casual and formal wear looks consist of black and navy blue colours.
For its casual look, a Harrington jacket is paired with a knotted sweater and polo shirt, complete with black leather Dior explorer derbies which are stamped with the iconic dior oblique motif. A cashmere coat, jacket, shirt and pants, together with black leather Dior timeless Captoe derbies, makes up Jones’ vision for the formal wear outfit.
Finally, the pieces are tied together with refined accessories such as saddle bags in black grained calfskin, jacquard ties, cashmere scarves and a reversible black and navy blue belt.
Showing some team pride
One of the standout features of the designs are the Paris Saint-Germain patch and logos adorning the clothing and accessories, in tandem with the ‘CD Icon’ initials. In addition, the insoles of the Captoe Derbies are silver tone embossed with each player’s jersey number.
Sporting these new creations in a video released by Dior, some of the team’s stars such as Neymar Jr. and Sergio Ramos are seen at a fitting, trying on the specially tailored ensembles while appreciating the designs’ fit and style, as well as the customised touches bearing the PSG name.
