Celebrity beauty brands – do they really work? Or are they just for hype? We understand your skepticism when it comes to brands produced by world-famous celebrities. That’s why we set out to try these so you don’t have to. With a good jumble of flops, there are some that were worth the repurchase and we’re here to share them with you.
Fenty Skin
Following Rihanna’s release of Fenty Beauty, she launched Fenty Skin, her skincare line which debuted with the aim of making skincare easy for all. Her first range featured 2-in-1 skincare, with products like a makeup remover + cleanser, a toner + serum and a moisturiser + sunscreen. The collection also highlighted ingredients that were gentle enough for any skin type. Infused with Barbados cherries, the birthplace of the celebrity, the range is beginner friendly for anyone looking to reset their skin. Fenty Skin
Rare Beauty
Founded by Selena Gomez, there’s more to Rare Beauty than just minimalistic packaging and rosey-hued palettes. The newly launched brand features a design made for people with arthritis, for easy access to the products. Since then, Selena has released a large collection of cream blushes that come in a variety of finishes, along with well-loved lip products. Our personal favourite is the Blot & Glow Touch-Up Makeup Kit, a staple for when we’re out in the humid weather. Rare Beauty
r.e.m Beauty
When world famous Ariana Grande announced that she was releasing her own beauty line, fans were in anticipation. While we feel like some of Grande’s products are amazing, the other half isn’t the best, so there’s a good mix of hits and misses here. The lip products, encased in astronaut-inspired packaging provided a hydrating formula despite finishing in matte. Her lip oils also gained recent popularity and are a great alternative to sticky and tacky gloss. r.e.m Beauty
Kylie Cosmetics
Although Kylie Jenner herself isn’t the primary shareholder of the brand due to the fact that she sold 51% of her stakes, formulation and quality still remain as they first launched. Lipsticks from Kylie Cosmetics take the limelight, with shades ranging from soft pink to nude and brown hues. At Zalora, you can purchase the lip products individually, or in a convenient duo set if you’re looking to purchase the lip liner too. Zalora
