Elevated menswear came off as a consistent sight at the most recent edition of Britain’s most treasured award show, the BAFTAs. Grounded quite comfortably in its British aesthetic, the BAFTAs’ red carpet usually witnesses its best-dressed men incarnating a classic approach to formal attire – no frills or fineries, just polished and simple. From dapper fitting suits to solid Oxfords and a hue palette drenched in navy, the traditional red carpet style was the perfect picture of elegance.
However this time around, the situation has taken a spin and BAFTAs’ menswear fashion has manifestly diverged from its norm. That too for good reason: the whole concept of celebrity is viewed as something far from our reach and so, it is only fitting for their fashion to flaunt this lavishness every now and then. Of course, there could not be a better place for these stars do so than the red carpet!
The menswear looks at this year’s BAFTAs merely reiterated to the world that men’s fashion has ventured into more daring realms, fuelled by innovation and avant-garde styles. Frankly, it’s all about embracing the fresh styles and donning the bold looks now.
Ahead, we present our picks of the best-dressed men at the BAFTAs, all who perfected their red carpet looks:
