Luxury sneakers have been stealing the spotlight in the shoe department for quite some time. There’s the Gucci Ace, Saint Laurent Court Classic and cult-favourite Golden Goose Superstar sneakers, to name a few that debuted long before the reign of chunky silhouettes.
Today, almost every designer, if not all, has a flagship sneaker to call their own – plus new designs and launches to keep the hype going on this ever-growing category of shoes. To bring you up to speed, we round up the latest designer sneakers to shop right now.

Versace Trigeca
After the Chain Reaction and Squalo, the Trigeca is the latest to join the Versace sneaker family. Maximalist by nature, the sneaker is distinguished by the house’s Greca geometric pattern on three parts of the shoe: the sole, midsole and upper shoe strip – this earning its name. Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani is introducing a new sneaker collection for the Autumn/Winter 2020 season: Emom. The collection comes in a variety of colours and mixed materials, including a bold red and all-black finish. W armani.com
Christian Louboutin Loubishark
Sneakerheads may want to trade a classic pair of Louboutin pumps for the new Loubishark – and there’s a stark difference between the two indeed. The striking jaws-like ridged sole is pretty self-explanatory, but don’t let that distract you from its technical craftmanship. Playful, unconventional and radical to say the least, the new sneaker icon is made from 13 different components including suede leather panels, rubber and mesh for an urban, sporty feel. A rubber lattice cage hugs the heel, and signature spike studs complete the pull tab. Only 600 numbered pairs of this sneaker will be offered, in 3 different styles. W christianlouboutin.com

Gucci’s latest drop isn’t exactly available irl (that’s Internet speak for “in real life”). Yes, the Gucci Virtual 25, as its name suggests, is a virtual shoe – the first ever designed by creative director Alessandro Michele. Unveiled in conjunction with the launch of the Gucci Sneakers Garage, the brand’s new platform that allows users to redesign their own Gucci sneakers, the hyper-real sneakers is made for trying on and sharing with friends digitally.
