The Datai Langkawi, Malaysia’s renowned rainforest retreat, has unveiled the expert practitioners set to feature in Serenity – The Datai Well-being Series 2025, a year-long programme dedicated to holistic healing and personal transformation. Building on the success of previous years, this exceptional initiative continues to welcome a distinguished lineup of wellness specialists from around the world, offering guests an immersive experience that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit amidst the resort’s breathtaking natural surroundings.
Since its inception in 2023, Serenity – The Datai Well-being Series has provided exclusive opportunities for guests to engage with leading practitioners in personalised and group sessions, set within the tranquillity of Langkawi’s ancient rainforest. In 2025, the programme will expand to include an even broader range of transformative practices, from traditional healing arts such as sound therapy and yoga to cutting-edge therapeutic techniques like somatic movement, bioresonance, and advanced bodywork.

Stephane Duvacher, General Manager of The Datai Langkawi, highlights the resort’s commitment to well-being: “At The Datai Langkawi, we are privileged to be surrounded by an unparalleled natural environment that inherently nurtures and heals. Serenity – The Datai Well-being Series 2025 exemplifies our commitment to bringing holistic healing and wellness experiences to our guests by collaborating with globally acclaimed practitioners. It is our vision to create journeys that not only restore balance but also inspire lasting positive change in the way our guests connect with themselves and the natural world around them.”
Louise Ward, Director of Spa and Wellness at The Datai Langkawi, adds: “Each year, the practitioner lineups for Serenity – The Datai Well-being Series are carefully curated, with the aim of bringing unique wellness experiences and expert guidance to enhance our guests’ journeys. It’s a privilege to offer transformative opportunities in the heart of Langkawi’s ancient rainforest, where nature and holistic practices come together to create truly immersive experiences.”
This year’s line-up features six esteemed practitioners, including returning experts Bastien Gonzalez and Savy Ho, alongside new specialists offering their unique wellness approaches:
Dr Leonard McGill, Developer of Structural/Energetic Integration Therapy (USA): 13 – 23 February 2025

Dr McGill’s approach integrates what he calls ‘Taoist energy practices’ – ancient Chinese techniques designed to cultivate, balance, and harmonise the body, fostering physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. His methods encompass chakra balancing, myofascial release, dry needling, and spinal alignment, all working together to restore equilibrium and vitality.
With a deep commitment to transformative healing, his residency treatments include Re-Align and Energise, a session aimed at relieving pain, improving mobility, and revitalising the body. Through his Structural/Energetic Integration Therapy, Dr McGill targets the root causes of pain and dysfunction, offering lasting relief. His distinctive approach blends chiropractic adjustments, intuitive healing, reflexology, trigger-point release, Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage, and cranial-sacral therapy. This powerful combination activates the body’s natural healing abilities, leaving participants feeling lighter, freer, and more balanced.
Bastien Gonzalez, Podiatrist (France): 13 – 20 April 2025

Renowned globally for his meticulous and revolutionary approach to foot care, Bastien Gonzalez has redefined podiatry with his award-winning techniques. A Paris-trained specialist, he was among the pioneers of an integrated approach to hand, nail, and foot health, seamlessly blending medical-grade care with natural beauty. His signature treatments not only ensure the highest standard of nail care but also incorporate deep massage techniques to relieve muscle tension from toe-to-knee or finger-to-elbow, delivering an experience that is both therapeutic and indulgent.
While guests can enjoy expert hand and foot treatments year-round at his Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio at The Datai Langkawi, the rare opportunity to experience his masterful touch firsthand is available only from the 13th to the 20th of April, 2025, during his exclusive residency. His visit will also include special wellness workshops designed to elevate foot care to an art form.
Hannah Moujing, Indigenous Movement Practitioner (Malaysia): 5 – 15 June 2025

Hannah Moujing brings a deeply immersive and holistic approach to movement, combining yoga, meditation, somatic bodywork, and indigenous practices to foster a profound reconnection between body and mind. Her method integrates physical and therapeutic touch with mindfulness, drawing inspiration from traditional Malaysian arts such as mengkuang weaving and nature-based meditation.
Hannah’s sessions at The Datai Langkawi, titled Reconnecting with the Indigenous Body, are where participants will explore ancient movement techniques that harmonise the body with the natural world and ancestral wisdom. Sessions include meditative ‘lines in the sand’, floating meditation, and somatic bodywork inspired by traditional healing practices, offering a rare opportunity to embrace movement as a pathway to deeper self-awareness and connection.
Daphne Chua, Somatic and Therapeutic Bodyworker (Singapore): 31 July – 10 August 2025

A registered yoga therapist, movement educator, and bodyworker specialising in rehabilitation and somatic movement education, Daphne emphasises the internal experience of movement rather than just the outcome. She is highly skilled in advanced dry needling, electrotherapy (a treatment using electrical energy for pain relief and muscle recovery), and yoga therapy.
Her approach is centred on restoring physical balance by exploring the deep connections between the brain and body, as well as underlying movement patterns. Integrating principles of kinesiology (which uses muscle testing to identify imbalances), embodied anatomy and physiology, somatics, evidence-based research on the nervous system, trauma physiology, and traditional yoga philosophy, Daphne’s work is both holistic and scientifically grounded.
She offers Therapeutic and Holistic Bodywork – evidence-based sessions designed to support rehabilitation and movement education. By combining advanced dry needling, therapeutic yoga, and somatic practices, Daphne helps individuals regain mobility, relieve pain, and reconnect with their bodies for improved overall well-being.
Liam Harkness, Founder of The Stretch Clinic (UK): 9 – 19 October 2025

Originally from the UK and now based in Kuala Lumpur, Liam is the founder of The Stretch Clinic, where he blends physiotherapy with holistic lifestyle practices. His approach integrates manual therapy, biomechanics – the study of how mechanical forces influence movement in the human body – bioresonance, which uses electromagnetic frequencies to restore balance and holistic injury prevention techniques. Renowned for his expertise in advanced pain management, Liam also leads educational workshops for sports institutes and hospitals, making his knowledge invaluable to those seeking physical rejuvenation.
During his residency, Liam will offer Integrated Therapy and Stretching – a cutting-edge approach to holistic wellness. This hands-on therapy combines stretching, massage, biomechanics, and bioresonance techniques to alleviate pain and improve flexibility. Guests can also participate in group classes focused on injury prevention and optimising physical performance.
Savy Ho, Sound Healer and Yoga Practitioner (Malaysia): 22 December 2025 – 2 January 2026

Awarded Best Sound Healer of the Year at the Yogalife Wellness Awards/Tourism Malaysia 2020, Savy is a certified sound healer known for a transformative, heart-centred approach to yoga, bodywork, meditation, sound healing, and tea ceremonies. Specialising in Light Energy Weave healing – an alternative energy therapy that channels and weaves light frequencies into the body’s energy field – Savy helps clear blockages, restore balance, and support overall well-being. With a deep commitment to raising consciousness, fostering self-love, and enhancing inner awareness, Savy guides individuals on a journey of healing and realignment, promoting harmony of mind, body, and spirit.
At The Datai Langkawi, Savy will lead deeply restorative wellness sessions, including sound healing, guided meditation, yoga, and traditional tea ceremonies designed to foster emotional equilibrium. She will also introduce new offerings such as cacao ceremonies and partner Thai massage, blending ancient wisdom with contemporary techniques to create a profoundly healing experience.
Serenity – The Datai Well-being Series extends The Datai Langkawi’s commitment to immersive well-being experiences inspired by nature. Thoughtfully curated, this series perfectly complements the resort’s signature Ramuan-based treatments – a traditional Malay healing practice that draws on the restorative properties of rainforest plants and herbs. Guests can indulge in a range of rejuvenating therapies at The Spa, a tranquil retreat designed for a holistic journey of renewal and balance.
