1. Hide-Chan Ramen

This legendary Hakata-style tonkotsu gem – awarded a Bib Gourmand recognition in New York from 2012 to 2014 – is back, now as a six-month pop-up at Lot 10’s J’s Gate Dining from 8 August 2025 to January 2026. The rich, creamy pork broth (MSG-free) is a standout, with signature bowls like Aka-Hide and Kuro-Hide, plus special KL-only dishes such as the Hakata-style Maze-Soba and sizzling Clay-pot Mapo-Men.

2. Meraki Dining

New to Section 17 in PJ, diners at Meraki Dining can expect contemporary Asian and modern Malaysian offerings in a sleek venue helmed by Chef LC and Chef Kumar. Local flavours are celebrated here with a refined twist, with some standouts like the Lamb Shoulder, Chilled Sōmen, and Chicken Rice Risotto. Order your own main or a few dishes to split amongst a group, and finish off with desserts like the Crème Caramel, Chrysanthemum Lychee Jelly, or Mini Tiramisu.

3. Tai Tai Cafe by JustGood

Stylish and playful, female-led Tai Tai Cafe delivers café fare with a Southeast Asian twist. Highlights include the Coriander Pesto Spaghettini (tangled with fried ikan bilis, clams, prawns, calamari) and cheeky desserts like tiramisu made with kuih bahulu and Pulut & Mango with pandan pulut, mango, pomegranate, and coconut cream.

4. Bacio Italian Kitchen

This new pork-free Italian eatery in Mont Kiara promises brio and charm with a variety of pastas, mains, and pizzas showcasing authentic Italian flavours. On the menu are Italian classics like Fritto de Mare, Tagliatelle al Ragu di Agnello (Tagliatelle Lamb Ragout), Tagliata di Manzo Alla Griglia ((Charcoal Grilled Black Angus Ribeye), the very unique Polpo e Patate (octopus and potato) pizza, and desserts like Tiramisu. Aside from the food, what speaks to us is its chic space that is clean, inviting, and is flooded with natural light.

5. Gamtan Korean Cuisine

Hot off the buzz from Singapore, Gamtan Korean Cuisine – renowned for its ultra-premium meats and traditional sotbap dishes – is making its way across the Causeway with a brand new branch in KL. In Singapore, Gamtan is famed as the only spot serving King Galbi – a rare USDA Prime rib cut that’s been marinated for at least six hours to achieve a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. While many details are still under wraps, the restaurant is slated to open its doors on September 11th.
6. A Long Table

Influenced by the founders’ travels across the globe, A Long Table is slated to be a quiet and reflective space inspired by Japanese teahouse traditions. With an experiential space that’s anchored by a large communal table and great for supper clubs and other events alike, the teahouse will be offering seasonal drinks and pairings, curated and guided by memory, observation, and thoughtful sourcing.

7. Omna

This new wood-fired pizza and pasta parlour opened towards the end of August at Cantara Retail and has an extensive menu featuring sharing plates, soups and salads, mains, brunch options, pizza, pasta, and desserts. Few highlights that are not to be missed include its carbonara-inspired Omna Signature Pizza, topped with beef bacon, mushrooms, and egg yolk, and the succulent Wagyu Wonder Burger.

8. Looozer

After a year of pop-ups, KL’s matcha aficionado Looozer has finally opened its first kiosk in The Pocket. Their specialty? Bright, Uji-sourced matcha – cold-whisked for enhanced sweetness – and a trendy space for green-tea connoisseurs. Aside from classic matcha beverages, Looozer also prepares its own fruit purées for some fun matcha concoctions and other thirst quenchers.

12. Ramen Monster

Hidden inside a yatai-style mobile stall in Taman OUG, Ramen Monster is an unexpected delight that pairs deep, authentic tonkotsu-style bowls with specialty pour-over coffee in a café-meets-ramen setup. The must-try Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen greets you with fragrant, cloudy pork-bone broth, springy noodles, custardy egg, and tender chashu – an experience you’d expect in Japan, but delightfully realised in KL.
