Royal Salute Miami Polo Edition Launch
Selected media and guests were treated to a coastal staycation in Desaru Coast for the launch. Essentials for a beach party, check! Ember Beach Club was transformed to reflect Miami's vibrant setting and the pink hue of the latest Royal Salute Miami Polo expression. The sunny beachfront of Ember Beach Club at Desaru Coast was recently transformed to mirror Miami’s vibrant landscapes in celebration of the launch of the new Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition. Unveiled on 6 August, the exceptionally aged Scotch whisky is the latest edition to the brand’s iconic Polo Collection, which celebrates its long-standing connection to polo.
Selected media and esteemed guests made their way to the coastal destination in the southern state of Johor in the creme de la creme of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia luxury car models, courtesy of Royal Salute’s exclusive partnership with the marque. Upon arrival, guests were ushered into the island lifestyle through beachside activities, invigorating cocktails, and a generous dose of vitamin sea.
After sunset, guests indulged in a curated six-course meal paired with a range of Royal Salute whiskies. This included the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Signature Blend, the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Malts Blend, and the star of the evening, the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition. To complement the dinner and whisky pairings, Pernod Ricard brand ambassador Racheal Turner led guests through the Royal Salute Olfactory Studio experience, featuring three uniquely crafted scents.
This latest polo-inspired expression comes endorsed by renowned polo player and Royal Salute World Polo Ambassador Malcolm Borwick. It is the sixth release in the collection, continuing the Scotch distillery’s aim to capture the culture of renowned polo locations around the globe.

Amuse bouche: Whisky Orange Glaze Quail and Grape Pickles.
Starter: Sea Bass Sashimi, Green Nam Jim, Coconut Lime and Cucumber paired with the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition.
Half Lobster, Royal Salute Lemon Beurre Blanc and Chives paired with the Royal Salute 21 Year Old The Signature Blend.
Main: Wagyu Beef with Whisky Pickle Onion, White Onion Puree and Garlic Oil paired with the Royal Salute 21 Year Old The Malts Blend.
Dessert: Caramelised Whisky Pear, Toast Pecan, Honey Whisky Glaze, and Lavender Gelato.
Miami’s vibrant energy and status as a modern polo destination shine through this expertly crafted blend by Royal Salute Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, finished in first-fill bourbon and first-fill rye casks – a first in the brand’s blending history. This results in hints of juicy ripe pears, honey blossom, and vanilla pastel de nata on the nose, with a blend of white chocolate, marzipan, and subtle cinnamon spice in the backdrop.
On the palate, the whisky’s all-American oak cask finish extends a smooth tasting experience with vanilla and coconut notes recalling Miami’s tropical beaches. Some may also pick up inflections of sweet apricot, pear drop sweets, zesty lemon curd, and aromatic gingerbread before welcoming a sweet and subtly spicy finish that captures the city’s golden sunsets.
Further embodying the city’s lively scene, the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition is presented in a striking pink flagon. It is housed in a presentation box adorned with an illustrative design depicting glamorous post-polo match gatherings, set against Miami’s infamous art deco architecture.
True to the vibrant nightlife in Miami, the evening culminated in an afterparty where guests mingled and danced along to catchy beats by the beach.
