Would you ever like to look through the Tiffany & Co. vault, a glance back through almost two centuries of jewellery history? To mark 187 years of superior design and legacy, the American luxury jeweller brings its history to life with ‘Tiffany Wonder’, a limited exhibition in Tokyo that chronicles its most revered innovations and the spellbinding stories behind them.
A fully immersive experience, the showcase takes visitors on a journey through the House’s rich history and exceptional craftsmanship. The full exhibition will feature a stunning display of design masterpieces, heirloom diamonds and dazzling treasures from Tiffany & Co. From iconic pieces like Jean Schlumberger’s classic ‘Bird on a Rock’ brooch to innovative contemporary designs, the exhibition aims to highlight the brand’s innovations over the years.
As for the decision to open such an experience in Tokyo, the answer lies too in the past. Tiffany & Co. has a long history with Japan, with many of the House’s best-known designers, including Edward C. Moore, Louis Comfort Tiffany and Elsa Peretti, all found inspiration for their work in the arts of Japan. A celebration of respect and creativity, various aspects of the exhibition pay homage to the many ways the country has enriched the brand’s creative legacy.
Within the 10 rooms of the exhibition, visitors can explore themes that are central to the House’s identity and heritage. Exceptional objects that tell the story of Tiffany & Co.’s nearly 200-year legacy, including the first-ever Blue Book mail-order catalogue and the iconic Tiffany Setting engagement ring will be told throughout the rooms. Nearly 300 objects will be on show for the first time, including a rare George Paulding Farnham-designed orchid brooch and Jean Schlumberger’s ‘Plumes’ necklace set with diamonds, rubies and sapphires. Naturally, the exhibition concludes with a celebrity: the 128.54-carat Tiffany Diamond, set in a transformable new creation inspired by Schlumberger’s emblematic ‘Bird on a Rock’ brooch.

Our latest exhibition celebrates this spirit in a city of great importance to Tiffany & Co.: Tokyo.”
