A creature of myths sculpted by Otani Workshop (in reality, a singular artist), the dinosaur-looking Tanilla breathes whimsy into the House’s latest men’s one-off capsule collection. Imbued with a dynamic spirit, this exclusive collection depicts Dior in an amusing never-seen before facade: a little less serious and a whole lot of fun.
The Dior & Otani Workshop collection flaunts a unique 24-piece range, with every piece an amalgam of the House’s luxury and the Japanese ceramist’s innovative artistry. Symbolising a welcome experimentation of styles, the collection’s lightheartedness effortlessly complements Dior’s signature elegance.
Dior Men’s Artistic Director, Kim Jones, presents a series of clothing and accessories fabricated through the House’s master tailoring and detailed embroidery with Tanila serving a delightful finish. The enchanting array comprises bomber jackets and relaxed fit t-shirts to hooded sweatshirts and sweaters. On certain pieces, Otani Workshop’s clay-inspired aesthetic takes the centre stage, refashioning the House’s symbols in a ‘rough’ look – think, scribbles.
The imaginative collaboration extends to accessories where ties, brooches and necklaces propel the capsule’s vision further. Other stellar items on the range include the House’s newest B33 High Top tennis shoes and grained calfskin tote bag. Endorsing Monsieur Christian Dior’s belief that red is “the colour of life”, the hue gloriously dominates the collection, making both subtle and bold appearances throughout.
