The lavish 3-day celebration was the culmination of a love story that began in Shanghai in 2017, when Ming and Mario first met during a birthday celebration hosted by his sister. Two years later, Mario proposed in spectacular fashion, transforming his family’s luxury mall, L’Avenue Shanghai, into a real-life Super Mario world complete with a musical performance for the model.
Seven years on, the couple exchanged vows before family and friends in an emotional ceremony adorned with floral installations, with their son and daughter serving as flower children.
While the fairytale setting captivated wedding enthusiasts around the world, fashion lovers were equally enthralled by Ming’s extraordinary bridal wardrobe. Working closely with stylist Leon Tu, the model curated a series of looks that blended haute couture craftsmanship, personal symbolism, and family heritage. Throughout the celebrations, she wore creations from some of fashion’s most storied houses, including Dior, Chanel, and Givenchy, each selected to reflect a different chapter of the occasion.
From a custom Dior haute couture wedding gown created in collaboration with the maison’s atelier, to a vintage Chanel dress from the year of her birth, every ensemble carried a story of its own. Ming Xi wore a bespoke full-lace creation by Vietnamese designer label Montsand for her pre-wedding shoot with the Boston Celtics co-owner, a brand known for its refined craftsmanship and modern romantic sensibility. The gown featured intricate hand-crafted pleating and a softly layered silhouette that enhanced its ethereal, almost weightless quality. A personalised veil, delicately embroidered with the couple’s names, added an intimate and sentimental touch to the look.

Ming Xi was also seen in a satin gown from Viktor&Rolf Mariage, a look believed to be part of the couple’s pre-wedding shoot. The design featured a sleek, fluid satin silhouette that highlighted the house’s signature sculptural approach to bridalwear. Though only one image of the ensemble has surfaced, it adds another minimalist yet striking addition to her thoughtfully curated wedding wardrobe.
Welcome dinner
For the welcome dinner, Ming Xi appeared in a soft ice-blue Dior tulle creation from the Spring 2026 collection, detailed with delicate floral embellishments that added a romantic, ethereal dimension to the silhouette. The airy construction and intricate mini floral detailing gave the gown a dreamlike, couture-crafted quality that felt both modern and timeless.
She paired the look with exceptional Graff high jewellery, including snowflake-inspired diamond earrings, a statement bracelet, and an oval-cut diamond ring, adding a layer of brilliance to the soft pastel palette.
Getting-ready
Ming Xi was seen getting ready for her wedding in a custom Silky Miracle bridal robe, designed as part of her intimate morning ritual before the ceremony. Crafted in ultra-premium silk, the robe featured a relaxed yet romantic silhouette, elevated by delicate sleeve-tie details that caught the light with every movement. Brought to life from a bespoke design sketch, the look captured the quiet anticipation of a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Wedding ceremony
Now for the most talked about (and probably most photographed) look from her wedding, Ming Xi stepped into the ceremony at Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey in a custom Dior haute couture gown. The bespoke off-shoulder silhouette was developed in collaboration with Dior’s Couture Atelier, evolving from a design inspired by the ceramic works of Magdalene Odundo and reinterpreted into an elegant open-back structure.
Constructed with sculptural precision, the gown featured delicate detailing, signature buttons, and internal structure that created a graceful, wing-like shape at the back. Ming completed the look with a 52-carat Graff diamond necklace and matching earrings, along with bespoke Dior heels embossed with the wedding date. The result was a ceremony look that balanced couture craftsmanship with timeless elegance, perfectly suited to the grandeur of the celebration itself.
Wedding dinner
For the wedding dinner and reception at Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy in Deauville, Ming Xi changed into a vintage Chanel haute couture pearl dress from the 1989 archive, a choice that blended archival fashion history with deeply personal significance. Strapless with delicate pearl accents, the piece carried a timeless, refined elegance that echoed the heritage of the historic French setting – Deauville being the birthplace of Chanel itself.
The look held added meaning for the bride, who chose the 1989 design as a nod to her own birth year, infusing the ensemble with a subtle layer of sentiment. She styled the dress with heirloom South Sea pearls borrowed from her mother-in-law Angela Leong, alongside Graff diamond earrings and a Patek Philippe pearl watch.
After-party
Ming Xi changed into a lace mini-dress by Givenchy from Sarah Burton’s Spring 2026 collection for the after-party, offering a lighter, more playful counterpoint to her earlier bridal ensembles. Designed with a modern silhouette featuring fluid cape detailing and structured sleeves, the look balanced elegance with ease of movement.
Crafted in intricate lace, it brought a tactile richness while remaining comfortable enough for an evening of celebration and dancing. She described it as the perfect party piece, elevated further with Graff jewellery for a final touch of sparkle.
