In a previous 2016 interview, Huang mentioned that he didn’t know how rich his family was. His father, Zhongdong, who started L. TAO Entertainment in 2018 after the singer left Korean entertainment label SM Entertainment, was pretty tight-lipped about his wealth. In fact, the late senior Huang – who passed away in 2020 due to a chronic illness – was once the seventh richest man in Qingdao, and even owned five mansions in the area.

In music, Huang’s solo work often showcases his passion for hip-hop, with a distinct blend of pop and traditional Chinese elements. He has a penchant for watches, and is an avid fan of Richard Mille timepieces – on top of owning Rolexes, and a Patek Phillipe as well. But those aren’t the only mechanical marvels he’s a collector of; he’s also into cars, and owns a number of brands, from McLaren to Lamborghini and a Mercedes G-Wagon, to name but a few.
