Tis’ the season to indulge yourselves in the fairy-tale fantasies and predictable stories of holiday romantic comedies. It’s that time of the year where the boundaries for cliches and cheesy lines vanish – all you see and feel is love, love, and so much love!

Of course, you and I both know most of the older Christmas classics, having watched them repeatedly year in and year out. So for a little magical remix, here is a compilation of the newest Nöel season rom-coms, curated just for you:

Your Christmas or Mine? (2022)

Young love, impulses and Christmas – the perfect ingredients for a festive trifle. Your Christmas or Mine? follows young lovers Hayley (Cora Kirk) and James (Asa Butterfield) who bid farewell to each other at Marleybone Station for the holidays. Moments later, the realisation crashes on them that they cannot actually bear the idea of being apart for Christmas.

Cue a flurry of madness that begins with a last-second decision to surprise each other, leading to an unexpected swap of trains and ends with them both trapped with each other’s family for the rest of the holidays. Blending secrets and earnest adoration, this tale of youthful love has all the makings of a warm classic.

The much-anticipated sequel, Your Christmas or Mine 2, is all set to release on Prime Video next month.

Noel Diary (2022)

A testament to what romantic comedies ought to do – make you laugh, cry and fall in love all over again – Noel Diary hits the mark. The movie focuses on best-selling spy novelist Jake (Justin Hartley) who returns home during the Christmas month to settle his estranged mother’s estate and ends up discovering an old diary belonging to a mysterious woman. He then meets Rachel (Barrett Doss) who is on a relentless pursuit for her birth mother.

Together, the two lost souls embark on a journey to sort out unfinished affairs and amidst that, they navigate through bouts of their past, some crucial self-discovery and of course, a budding romance.

Last Christmas (2019)

Befitting the George Michael song it was named after, this Christmas gem is heavy on the feels and sends your heart on a rollercoaster, to say the least. Katarina (Emilia Clarke) is an aspiring singer who works as an elf at a Christmas shop in London. Initially fuelled by disaffection following a health scare, she meets Tom (Henry Golding) whose precious life wisdom is to always “look up” and you’d notice the things that often go unseen. With blooming love and hope reignited, Last Christmas is a quintessential reminder of just how special goodness is for everyone.

Something from Tiffany’s (2022)

Fate is a funny thing and this romance flick is yet another example why so – a special box from Tiffany’s launches this epic chain of events. Zoey Deutch plays Rachel, a young entrepreneur whose life is changed forever when she stumbles upon an engagement ring in her boyfriend’s car after he meets in an accident outside a Tiffany’s store. Little did she know that the precious jewellery was not meant for her, instead it was purchased by the good Samaritan who saved her boyfriend’s life. An innocent gift mix-up turns into something so much more – with new paths crossing comes the chance of fresh sparks and accidental wonders.

Falling for Christmas (2022)

In the days leading up to Christmas, Sierra Belmont (Lindsay Lohan), a young newly engaged heiress, has an unfortunate skiing accident. Suffering from amnesia as a result, she finds herself living with a kind-hearted inn owner, Jake (Chord Overstreet) and his daughter while attempting to regain her memory. An earnest delivery of the amnesia trope with a concoction of sappiness and rom-com joy, Falling for Christmas is a dream for Hallmark holiday movie lovers.

A Castle for Christmas (2021)

It truly is in the name for this one. Here, we witness best-selling author Sophie (Brooke Shields) travelling to Scotland in order to escape the scandal from her last book — she had done the unthinkable and upset her readers (uh oh!) Upon her arrival, she is shown a castle which she falls irrevocably in love with and wishes to purchase it. However, she is met by the Duke of Dunbar (Cary Elwes), the grumpy owner of the castle who does whatever he can to change her mind. Together, these two strangers wander the castle, and the rest that unfolds in this adorable rom-com is all yours to enjoy!

With little over a month to Christmas, take some time for yourself and revel in some festive marvels – trust us, it’s an amazing feeling!
