What are the Trumps up to these days as they count down the days until they exit the White House? Where the outgoing POTUS will go is still anyone’s guess (and the options are plenty) – but his senior aides, daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kusher, have been unsurprisingly scouting for new property.
As Page Six reports, the couple has found a home (or a hideout, if you will) in a secluded, undeveloped $30million plot of land in the high-security Indian Creek Island famously dubbed “Billionaire’s Bunker”. They allegedly settled on the listing after viewing numerous properties in the Miami and Palm Beach area.
The neighbourhood is touted as one of the most exclusive and secure places in Florida, boasting a 13-man police force for just 29 residences. According to the report, it is believed that the couple has purchased Lot 4 – a bayfront estate measuring 1.84 acres with 200 feet of private waterfront.
As it turns out, the lot – previously owned by singer Julio Iglesias – is just over an hour from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club. It was listed at $31.8 million, with taxes costing $472,764 a year. The deal is expected to close on December 17.
Ivanka and Kushner, both 39, currently live in D.C. with their three young children, after relocating from New York City in 2017. In the last four years, they have been renting a $15,000-a-month house owned by a subsidiary of the family of Chilean billionaire Andrónico Luksic.
Aside from the new Florida address, they still own their apartment in Park Avenue and have also revealed plans to expand their cottage by the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. It is believed that the family will be travelling between their homes after leaving D.C.
