The eight-episode season of the smash-hit show Wednesday broke numerous records upon its debut and went on to become Netflix’s second most watched show ever, so it’s not surprising that the Addams family and the rest of the cast will be back for another installment. Yes, there will be a Wednesday season 2! But if you have yet to watch the series, it basically follows a 15-year-old Wednesday Addams as she investigates a complex mystery at her school involving a mysterious serial-killing monster and a centuries-long history of animosity between the outcasts and the ‘normies’.

Who’s the cast in Wednesday Season 2?
Of course, it wouldn’t be Wednesday without Jenna Ortega reprising her titular role. According to Deadline, Hollywood star Steve Buscemi will also be attached to the show’s second season, but his role is being kept secret for now. The pair are also likely to be joined by fellow Season 1 cast mates Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, and Joy Sunday, alongside Addams family members, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Fred Armisen.
What will Wednesday Season 2 be about?
Despite Netflix not saying anything about the upcoming season’s storyline, Ortega has let slip that the second season will have more viral moments than her self-composed prom dance. The actress also revealed she would be co-producing the next season, promising some huge changes for the show including shifting away from the romance aspect in the first run. “We’re ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great,” she told Variety. “We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more. Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.”
When will Wednesday Season 2 come out?
A release date for the upcoming season has not yet been set; however, it’s likely that new episodes could arrive on the streamer by the end of 2024. Stay tuned!
