In honour of the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos, Chopard has come up with a dark and hypnotising timepiece: the L.U.C Skull One.
On the dial, the L.U.C Skull One features a calavera face, a stylised Mexican skull adorned with sun, flower, and heart-shaped motifs, along with a moustache with rounded tips above a toothless smile. The amicable-looking skull displays the watch’s hands, Arabic numerals, and gilded hour-markers which strike an elegant contrast against the overall black hue.

Housed within the watch is the L.U.C 96.53-L mechanical movement with automatic winding. It’s ultra-thinness is measured at a mere 3.3mm, and equipped with two barrels based on Chopard Twin technology, ensuring a 58-hour power reserve. The watch also comes with water resistance of up to 30 metres. The movement is brought to life thanks to a micro-rotor in tungsten – a high-density alloy which ensured optimal winding. The movement bridges is finished with a “Côtes de Genève pattern”, and the calibre can be easily viewed through a blackened transparent back.
Topping off the Chopard L.U.C Skull One is a responsibly sourced, hand-stitched brown calfskin leather strap, which adds a final touch of elegance and nobility.
