For Muslims, fasting and charitable deeds are both obligatory during the month of Ramadan. We are taught to exhibit self-control and humility, as well as to ponder upon and express sympathy for the underprivileged. As a result, we are urged to be more giving and expand our Sadaqah Jariah (charitable efforts).

1. Islamic Relief Malaysia 

Islamic Relief is an established humanitarian relief and development organisation with a strong footprint in over 45 countries, including Malaysia. During the holy month of Ramadan, Islamic Relief Malaysia organises an annual charity initiative called Rezeki Ramadan to assist underprivileged families in easing the burden of preparing sahur and iftar.

2. MERCY Malaysia 

MERCY Malaysia, a well-known humanitarian relief group which covers medical and economic assistance both nationally and internationally. The organisation has set up a specific assistance fund to provide enough food supply for Malaysia’s marginalised groups. The funds raised through the Ramadan Relief contribution campaign will be used to purchase sahur or iftar meal kits.

World Peace Mission is a non-profit agency that delivers “Humanitarian Mission Across Borders”. GPM is continually promoting the significance of creating and preserving world peace via awareness programmes to assist the impoverished, those affected by natural catastrophes. This year’s Ramadan campaign focuses on delivering meal packages for iftar and sahur, as well as Eid outfits.
