She is also Bulgari’s first ambassador from Japan.
Adding to its powerhouse names like Bella Hadid, Lily Aldridge and Jon Kortajaren, Bulgari is proud to announce the inclusion of 15-year-old model and songwriter Koki as its latest ambassador.
If you’re wondering what’s the flurry about this new announcement, Koki isn’t just the daughter of famed Japanese actor-singer Takuya Kimura of SMAP, she is also Bulgari’s youngest ambassador yet, as well as its first from Japan.
She isn’t just a pretty face, of course – she’s an accomplished songwriter, having honed her skills in flute and piano, her musical talents stemming from a family accomplished in music and the arts.
“I am very happy to become an ambassador for Bvlgari, Italy’s ultimate global jeweller,” she says of her new appointment. “My dream is to become a model who can captivate audiences by portraying a wide range of characters. I realise that this is not a dream that is easily achieved. But as a member of the Bvlgari family who warmly welcomed me, I will boldly open the doors to this dream and continue rising up to the challenge.”
As cute as Koki sounds, it is merely her stage name; her real name is Mitsuki Kimura and she is the second daughter of Takuya and Japanese singer Shizuka Kudo. Her father has consistently won “Sexiest Man of the Year” titles in her homecountry of Japan and is one of its most popular showbiz personalities since breaking out in 1988 as part of the 6-piece boyband SMAP.
Despite the high profiles of both parents, Koki herself has stayed largely away from the limelight throughout her childhood until lately when she’s surfacing as a name and personality of her own with talents (and looks) to match, rocking the modelling world and then as a singer songwriter.
On top of her musical talents, she is also gifted linguistically, speaking Japanese, English and French.
