The Bulgari Aluminium GMT Special Edition watch is a homage to the illustrious Amerigo Vespucci ship and the spirit of exploration it represents, bringing the bold Italian identity to the world. The Bulgari Aluminium watch collection includes the brand-new GMT Amerigo Vespucci Special Edition.
Inspired by history
About the Amerigo Vespucci; The Italian Navy had named one of its tall ships the Amerigo Vespucci in honour of the famed explorer. It serves as a school ship and has La Spezia, Italy, as its home port. The Amerigo Vespucci, built in 1930 at the Naval Shipyard of Castellammare di Stabia, was the second vessel (Naples). She was launched on February 22, 1931, and came into service in July of that year.
With a feature that is especially valued by the modern traveller, the watch echoes the ship’s recognisable colours with its black, white, and yellow dial. It also features an iconic 40mm aluminium case, black rubber bezel, and band. The watch’s black dial, which reads “Aluminum GMT,” features Super-LumiNova®-filled hour and minute hands as well as rhodium-plated hour markers.
The 1000-piece limited edition watch is packaged in a mahogany wood presentation box bearing the motto of the training ship, “NON CHI COMINCIA MA QUEL CHE PERSEVERA,” and the signature of BVLGARI ALUMINIUM.
The new Bulgari Aluminium GMT Amerigo Vespucci Special Edition, which is limited to 1,000 pieces and comes with an aluminium-link rubber strap, costs $3,950.
