The handmade Limited Edition Centenary Ski is inspired by the diamond motifs, textures and patterns found in the EXP 100 GT concept car launched in 2019.
Luxury motor company Bentley Motors is celebrating its historic 100 years by collaborating with luxury ski brand Bomber Ski on limited edition 24k gold plated skis.
The carmaker said the skis will be fitted with 24-karat gold plated diamond-shape inserts and that there are only 100 of them in the world.
Bentley’s Lead Designer Chris Cooke worked with the Bomber Ski teams in both New York and Italy to bring the initial ski design to full fruition over a period of 18 months. Bentley said the ski went through multiple rounds of testing to ensure its appropriateness for the slopes, adding that it can be used by professional and amateur skiers alike.
The handmade Limited Edition Centenary Ski is inspired by the diamond motifs, textures and patterns found in the EXP 100 GT concept car launched in 2019 and is dubbed as the Bomber for Bentley Centenary Edition 84.
“The design was inspired by the visual language of Bentley’s centenary concept car, the EXP 100 GT, and developed into a beautiful three-dimensional structure that actually enhances the performance of the ski,” said Chris on the collaboration.
Bomber is also making another edition of skis for Bentley’s centenary known as the Bomber for Bentley Black Diamond 84 which is finished in gloss black, and is again complete with the distinctive Bentley diamond motif. Only 200 pairs of these skies are up for purchase.
Each of the Bomber skis are painfully handmade in a Bomber factory in Biella, Italy and are made from a sandwich construction with a core of wood and fibres, covered by two layers of Titanal and both are fitted with the iconic Bentley motif.
