Provisions
Helmed by the same team behind Li Restaurant in Damansara Jaya, Provisions is a humble bakery and coffee shop offering breads, coffee and a selection of goods such as Seniman Kakao chocolates and homemade sauces. As its cleverly designed tote bag reading “In Sourdough We Trust” (also for sale) suggests, the bakery is especially known for its assortment of sourdough goods (check out the sourdough crepe recipe they shared with us here). PAUL
Originally founded in France, this 131-year-old bakery chain needs no introduction amongst French pastry buffs. But PAUL doesn’t only offer baked treats, it also has an extensive selection of hot meals, sandwiches and beverages to fill up big appetites. Both its Pavilion KL and Intermark outlets are now open for dine-in in light of the partially lifted MCO, though you can still opt for pickup or delivery to minimise contact and stay safe. Jaslyn Cakes
This cosy café/cake shop has attracted locals in the Bangsar neighbourhood for more than three years and recently opened a Mont Kiara branch. Now thanks to Beep It, folks in the greater Klang Valley can also enjoy its selection of cakes, cookies, breads and croissants that are widely raved about. You may have heard of the amazing coffee over at this lush green PJ café, but equally worth mentioning is the menu of baked goods including sourdough bread, croissants, buns, canele, cookies, baguettes and sandwiches. For true carb lovers, there’s the Baker’s Choice assortment box of 9 pastries that’s ideal for gifting or sharing with loved ones. Established in 2015 in the unassuming neighbourhood of Bukit Tunku, Kenny Hills Bakers has since expanded to three outlets with a loyal following. Flakes at The Hub, SS2 is the new kid on the block which opened its doors in October 2019. Its fluffy croissants are famously baked with French flour and butter, giving them a texture and flavour unlike your run-off-the-mill patisserie types.
