This coming season, we’re swapping out our micro bags and straw silhouettes for more practical, everyday designs that Pre-Fall collections seem to be about.
As summer collections begin to exit stores to make way for fall, we’ve kept a lookout for the latest bags that will likely be filling up our Instagram feeds in the coming weeks and months. While the micro bag trend is still around, we’re swapping out our straw bags for more practical, everyday designs that Pre-Fall collections seem to be about.
Shop our top picks for the season from the likes of Saint Laurent, Celine and Roger Vivier below.
Christian Dior Bobby
After the it-bag success of the Dior Book Tote and the revival of the Dior Saddle, Maria Grazia Chiuri has created yet another hit in the Dior Bobby bag. This all-new design subtly pays tribute to Monsieur Dior’s dog, from which the bag also derived its name, while offering a modern take on the hobo bag. It features a flap closure with a magnetic clasp and a “CD” military-inspired logo buckle on the front, together with removable and adjustable shoulder straps that allow it to be carried on the shoulder, crossbody, or by hand. The full collection includes small, medium and large sizes and a variety of colours and materials such as the Dior Oblique jacquard canvas or calfskin leather.
Saint Laurent Solferino
At first glance, the new Saint Laurent Solferino bag may seem very basic – or some critics may consider boring. But that’s what creative director Anthony Vaccarello has found consumers to like – an understated, classic design that goes with everything. The Solferino satchel is the epitome of that with its boxy silhouette, mechanical flap closure and ‘YSL’ logo embellishment. Available in two sizes, timeless colours and finished in smooth box leather, supple suede or exotic skins, this latest accessory promises to be a cult-favourite.
Celine Pico Belt Bag
Hedi Slimane is bringing back the old Celine, or at least one small part of it, with the launch of Phoebe Philo’s signature Belt Bag in a new pico size. Debuting as the brand’s take on the micro bag trend, the belt bag comes in measurements of 21 x 16 x 8cm – sensible enough to store your smartphone, spare change and then some. Crafted in calfskin leather that highlights the brand’s meticulous craftsmanship, the Pico Belt Bag comes in an array of colours such as lychee, grey, taupe and black.

The collection consists of a selection of totes, sling bags and top-handle bags that are chic yet versatile for daily wear, plus, are durable and easy to clean.
Roger Vivier RV mini bag

Instantly recognizable by the RV logo handles, this trendy silhouette is roomy enough to store your essentials, yet cute and petite for a ladies’ night out or dinner date. It is crafted in soft suede and comes with a drawstring fastening and hidden metal chain strap that allows it to be worn across the body, in addition to carrying it by the handle.
Ambush X Bulgari Serpenti collection
Bulgari recently partnered with Tokyo-based fashion label Ambush for its latest Serpenti Through The Eyes Of series to offer three new Serpenti bags. The Ambush X Bulgari capsule comprises of a Serpenti shoulder bag, a new Serpenti belt bag and Serpenti clutch Minaudière clutch in vivid blue, green, purple and aluminium silver. Coach Riley Lunchbox
Drawing from the design of a Coach favourite introduced in the 1970s, the Riley Lunchbox bag is reinvented in a slender silhouette for this season. Constructed from buttery soft glove tanned leather and/or the brand’s signature canvas motif, the cute boxy bag features two expandable zip compartments and interior pockets to neatly tuck away your belongings. Completing its contemporary design is a ladylike top handle, detachable crossbody strap and iconic Horse and Carriage front snap closure that was first debuted in the 1950s.
Bottega Veneta Chain Casette
Daniel Lee has been making headlines in the footwear and bag departments for a few seasons now, and his influence continues into Pre-Fall with the spotlight on the new Chain Casette bag. Like the Chain Pouch that extends on the popularity of the now-iconic Pouch bag, the Chain Cassette adds a striking, edgy contrast to the heavily padded intrecciato weave Cassete bag with an updated chunky chain strap. The bag is available in exciting, fresh hues including swimming pool blue, sherbet yellow, fondente, grass, bianco and more.
