Here’s how you can experience a class with Asia’s leading barre studio, WeBarre against the view of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers.
Victoria’s Secret Angels practice it to stay fit for the runways. Madonna and Ryan Gosling also swear by it. No, it’s not yoga or pilates – it’s barre and you can soon experience a class with Asia’s leading barre studio, WeBarre against the view of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers!
Before we get into further details, here’s the low-down on what barre is about if you’re unfamiliar with the workout. Inspired by ballet, it incorporates the use of a barre (obviously, hence the name) and elements of pilates, yoga, dance and strength training. Its hybrid structure is targeted at toning and strengthening the body with high reps of small range movements. Resistance bands, light weights and yoga mats may also used at times.

WeBarre, in particular, focuses on isometric holds and combines them with dynamic exercises cum mini choreographed movements for an all-rounded 60-minute workout. Founded by Anabel Chew and Linda Tang in Singapore, it rapidly gained a following of like-minded fitness enthusiasts. It soon expanded to four studios in the country and one in Hong Kong, where over 130 classes are held weekly.
The fitness studio will be making its debut in Malaysia for the very first time at W Kuala Lumpur’s WET Deck on 27th January from 8.15am to 11am (participants are advised to come 15 minutes earlier).
In line with their fitness and wellness pillar, FUEL and their mantra of “Detox, Retox, Repeat”, W Kuala Lumpur will be treating participants to much-deserved light nibbles and fruity mocktails after the workout too. Available for one day only, all you need to do is bring your own mat and wear comfortable workout attire to sweat it out in good fun with WeBarre co-founder Anabel.
