“Spring is the best time to look at changing up your hair from both a trend and hair health perspective,” says Adam Reed, ghd global brand ambassador, stylist and one half of Percy & Reed.
While you’re updating your wardrobe with florals, fragrances and sunglasses for spring, why not change up your hairstyle too?
“Spring is the best time to look at changing up your hair from both a trend and hair health perspective,” says Adam Reed, ghd global brand ambassador, stylist and one half of Percy & Reed.
“Looser and more comfortable trends become fashionable and you can stop worrying about hat hair and dry, damaged locks from the central heating. Start to let your hair down and embrace this seasons’ shiny and conditioned style.”
With that, here are Adam’s tip tips to achieving smoother, healthier and natural-looking hair in keeping with spring hair trends.
Tip 1: Set the right temperature for straightening
“Use the ghd gold® styler which has had a technical upgrade and now features two heat sensors to help control optimum heat from root to tip…this one-stroke wonder heats to a safe-for-hair temperature of 185 degrees proven to be the best temperature for styling in the fewest strokes.”

Tip 2: Cool down your hair during drying
“Cooling your hair when drying is much better for your scalp and also helps to set the look in place.” It also helps to create a natural looseness and add a healthy volume to your hair.
Tip 3: Build texture when styling
“Go for bigger sections of the hair when drying and styling. Not only does this prevent further damage as the hear is spread across a wider surface area, but creates a more undone, chic look – a key trend for this season.”
Tip 4: Swap flat combs for bigger brushes
“Paddle brushes are key in spring. The big, flat shape is smoothing and anti-static, so it’s the ideal fix for hair that is still suffering from the harsh winter months.”
