The power of pantheres remains. Cartier‘s newest scarf, wrap, and headband all feature she-panther-fearful themes. The jungle creature symbolises the revival of the Maison’s silk squares, which were unveiled in 1979 and have since inspired a succession of artworks by the Maison’s primary creative fields. 

These silk accessories are handcrafted, woven, and rolled in the great artisan tradition at old factories in the Italian Lake District or in Lyon. From engraving to printing, which is done layer by layer, from the darkest to the lightest colour, and from the largest to the tiniest motifs, the process becomes slower and more demanding as the tones and designs get more nuanced and intricate.

As the fashion house reveals in a statement, ”The colour and mood revolves around the Place Vendôme, Japanese cherry blossoms, and Rue de la Paix—better known as Cartier’s world—following the power of panther in which she played the captivating and strong heroine to foreign cultural influences, and to flora and fauna.”
