We’re just T-7 days away from the official start of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2025, and the city is gearing up to celebrate the local fashion and design scene with a jam-packed week of runway shows and activations. This year’s event promises to be bigger and bolder than ever before, boasting the largest lineup yet with more than 55 designers and brands – including several debuts and premieres from new names and veteran designers – that will take place once again in Suria KLCC, transforming the Esplanade of KLCC Park into a veritable fashion runway.
Here’s a quick run-through of everything you should know before KL Fashion Week 2025 officially starts.
One week of fashion excitement
KLFW is a full seven days of fashion, and officially starts on the afternoon of Monday, 4 August all the way till the late hours of Sunday, 10 August. 29 separate runway shows will be taking place across the seven days, including several solo brand shows from big names like Rizman Ruzaini, Farah Khan and The Melium Group, Syomirizwa Gupta, Kit Woo, Fiziwoo, and Behati. There are also partner presenting shows like the Moccona Presents Ezzati Amira and Atelier Fitton shows, as well as the returning L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth runway. Of course, returning favourites in the local design scene like Tangoo, Maarimaia, Hatta Dolmat, Masyadimansoor, and many many more will be presenting their collection alongside their peers.
KLCC Park takeover
The event returns to Suria KLCC and KLCC Park, taking over nearly the entire Esplanade area with a purpose-built single-storey structure that houses the main show hall, runways, and multiple activation spaces. The venue will be seating 500 invited guests per show, and now feature designated arrival halls – an upgrade from last year’s setup. And like last year, local fashion fans can stay up to date with each and every show via the runway livestream that will be broadcasted on the special LED screen built on the structure.
New debuts to watch
This year, several names will be making their debuts on the KLFW 2025 stage, including rising stars Akmal Hakin, ShazNash, Ugly Pretty, HUNTILANAK, and MOKJY. In addition, Raja Irfan, Mei Mei, and Salahuddinhilmi will be presenting their work on the Design to Sustain stage after winning the KLFW Designer Search 2024. In addition, renowned designer Radzuan Radziwill and bespoke artisan Teh Firdaus will be taking to the KLFW runway for the first time too, revealing some highly awaited collections.
Collaborations take centre stage
KLFW 2025 also presents bold collaborations for this year’s programme, through shows like Muni x NKHAN, presenting a new chapter for both labels as they explore heritage textiles alongside Malaysian identity. Also taking the runway is Larney’s first ever collaboration collection, joining forces with designer Afiq M, who will return to the KLFW platform. Even more designers and brands are returning to KLFW 2025, including Ezzati Amira, Mimpikita, Neonate, and Private Stitch, who’s runways will all be met with excitement and anticipation too.
