For this first edition, we’re stepping into the serene world of Malaysia’s newly refreshed Spa de La Mer, a luxurious sanctuary of ultimate pampering. Tucked within the new La Mer flagship boutique at Suria KLCC, you wouldn’t expect there to be a spa inside at all.
Step in and you’ll find an intimate space that feels almost cocooned – compact yet thoughtfully designed to feel private and calming despite being located in one of Kuala Lumpur’s busiest malls.
An intimate retreat
After a several-year hiatus, Spa de La Mer in Kuala Lumpur has returned with a refreshed and inviting ambience. With its reopening last year at the new Suria KLCC store, Spa de La Mer reintroduces the brand’s signature spa experience to Kuala Lumpur, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail and indulgent care La Mer is renowned for.
First impressions
Upon arrival, we were greeted and ushered to the spa room at the back to change into a towel and slippers. Interestingly, there is only one treatment room in the store, which makes the experience feel particularly exclusive – appointments are taken one at a time, ensuring a quiet and personalised session. From the plush textures to the calm atmosphere, everything immediately felt indulgent.
We opted for the Hydrating Facial, a 75-minute treatment from The Lifting & Moisturizing Collection. The session began with The Treatment Lotion, a fresh hydrogel-textured watery lotion that energises, revives, and preps the skin for the La Mer regimen to follow.
As the facial began, the soft murmur of shoppers outside faded into background hum, and it didn’t take long before the rhythmic motions of the treatment took over.
The facial experience
The therapist’s hands were in constant motion, moving through a series of different massage techniques that had us drifting in and out of sleep. What truly sets this facial apart is its focus on these customised undulating massages.
Unlike standard facials, this treatment incorporates a variety of massage techniques across the face, neck, and décolletage, designed to enhance microcirculation and gently awaken the skin. Each movement felt deliberate and precise, leaving our complexion feeling firmer, deeply hydrated, and glowing with a youthful radiance.
The treatment continued with The Lifting Firming Serum, a potent formula that helps visibly firm and rejuvenate the skin, followed by The Moisturizing Soft Cream, a silky cream that provides long-lasting healing moisture while visibly plumping the skin.
The combination of La Mer’s sea-derived ingredients and the therapist’s expert kneading created a deeply luxurious experience that soothed both our skin and senses.
Treatments and takeaways
Spa de La Mer offers a curated selection of treatments designed to suit varying skincare needs and time commitments. Five facial treatments are available, including three 75-minute options – the Hydrating Facial, Sculpting Facial, and Soothing Facial – each priced at RM540. The other two 90-minute treatments, The Genaissance Facial and The Miracle Broth Facial, are priced at RM920.
